About Gael Perry
Gael practices improv for almost 10 years in Strasbourg and he is member and co-founder La Carpe Haute. He’s also co- founder of the SIN, an International Network of improvisers in Europe.
He is performer in La Carpe Haute and created international duos to continue to explore, tour the world and share: Raison d’Être with Laura Doorneweerd and Spirited Away with Gosia Rózalska.
Gael teaches improv and loves it! He travelled in Europe and the world during the past few years (New York, Barcelona, Berlin, Atlanta, Moscow, Athens, Brussels, Göteborg, Boston, Amsterdam, etc.), performing and teaching, and found a thousand ways to improvise. His dream was to combine it to be a multifaceted cristal of improv! Now, he shares around the world that way of acting, physical and noisy, kind and silly, emotive and crazy.
Soundeffects And Noisy People
Friday: 2pm - 5pm
The stories, the emotions, the relations can be created by words. They can also be created without them. But between speaking and keeping the scene silent, isn't there a world?
This is a workshop about supporting your acting using sounds. Realistic sounds, crazy sounds, annoying sounds, but the most important: your own sounds! Through different technics and exercises, we will work on layering the imaginary world around you with soundeffects to make it deeper. This workshop is a good complement of "A whole new world" but can be followed separately.
Unmute your mouth, and let's be noisy!
A French Lesson in Romance
Saturday: 10am - 5pm
France is well known for the wine, for the baguettes and for the Eiffel Tower. But France is also a country of romance, body language and love!
This is a workshop about using our bodies, the distances, our positions to frame intimacy. Using physicality and little gestures, less words and more eye contact, small touches and beyond everything our heart, we will learn how to create an intimate relationship. Through exercises and scene work, we will learn how to live that relationship fully to show kind, deep and realistic scenes.
Impro is about life, and what would be life without love?
A Thousand Characters Out Of You
Sunday: 10am - 1pm
There are many ways to work on character creation. You can learn how to maintain your body, how to walk with a cane, how to feel like fire, or one of the many other tricks. But what you need to BE somebody different is to FEEL like someone else.
This is a workshop about creating many characters (a thousand and more) from nothing, without thinking, unplugging your brain to be transported by the moment. Using funny exercises and musical inspired scenes, you will learn to create a different body, which will be at the same time natural and surprising for yourself.
Close your eyes, listen to the music, and be alive!
